The Festivities in honour of Saint Helena, in Lage (Vila Verde), last six days in August. They open with a mortar salute and the raising of the arch, followed by an evening of concertinas in the square. Sunday is the religious day: the
Banda de Música de Cabreiros accompanies the judges to the Chapel of Saint Helena, there is a solemn Eucharist, a procession in honour of Saint Helena followed by a sermon, and in the afternoon the folk festival. Throughout the festivities there are firework displays every night, and the festival closes on the 18th with a mass and a candlelight procession.
