about the place
In Ponte das Três Entradas, in the parish of Avô, the River Alva and the Pomares stream join hands, lending their name and soul to this ancient village of Beira Alta, today part of the municipality of Oliveira do Hospital. A land of long and distinguished history, it received its first royal charter from King Sancho I in 1187, and still holds pride in the times when it governed itself. From the Manueline pillory to the medieval Parish Church, from the ancient chapels to the ruins of the castle and the Anta da Arcaínha, Avô is small in size but great in memory. A festive and musical land, with a generous table, that invites you to let yourself be carried away by the meeting of the waters.
